John Wayne Airport is 7 miles from the Balboa Bay Club,

a 15 minute drive.

LAX is 45 miles from the Balboa Bay Club, a 60 minute to 90 minute drive.

Long Beach Airport is 25 miles from the Balboa Bay Club, a 25 - 50 minute drive.

If you don't rent a car. Uber/Lyft is commonly used. You really don't need a car if you'll be remaining in the area.

There is no public transportation except the bus. We don't have experience with this mode of transport.

There are plenty of bars up and down Newport Boulevard, the main road that takes you from PCH (Highway 1) to the Balboa Peninsula.

There is the Fun Zone on Balboa Island and a ferry to go to Balboa Island. Small, kinda charming main street.
